Sikhs from across India to unite to participate in movement to defeat Haryana government's conspiracy to divide and weaken the community
(Sikh panth will never tolerate any interference in its religious affairs -- Parkash Singh Badal)
(Congress has infiltrated Sikh community with its agents -- Sukhbir Badal )
Chandigarh, July 22 -- Sikh leaders from across India collected here today and expressed their willingness to participate in the movement to defeat Haryana's conspiracy to divide and weaken the community even as they made it clear that it was the Haryana government which had followed a collision course with the Akal Takth and that it should now be prepared for the consequences.
Addressing a large gathering of Sikh leaders from different parts of India, chief minister Parkash Singh Badal made it clear that the Khalsa panth would never tolerate any interference in its religious affairs. "The Akal Takht is supreme for us. Sikhs worldwide obey it. Even Maharaja Ranjit Singh had to appear before it as a humble Sikh when summoned. It is intolerable for us if anybody tries to challenge the authority of the Akal Takth", he said.
The chief minister also made it clear that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee did not belong to Punjab, Haryana or even India. "It is the representative body of Sikhs worldwide. Whenever any Sikh faces a problem the world over it is the SGPC which comes to his rescue. Nobody, least of all the Haryana government can decide to divide the SGPC in two", he added.
Mr Badal made it clear that it was the Gandhi family which was behind the Haryana government's decision to form a separate body to interfere in Sikh affairs and that the Sikh community was ready to battle with the Congress. "I appeal to the Gandhi family and also warn it that both nature and God have always punished those who have gone against the Akal Takth".
Making it clear that the "sangat" at the panthik akath at Amritsar on July 27 would give its final nod for the "morcha" to be launched to correct the "historic wrong" committed by the Haryana government, the chief minister said the Haryana government would be responsible for the consequences". He however appealed to the people to maintain peace and communal harmony at all costs.
Earlier Deputy chief minister and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal detailed how it was the Congress which had infiltrated the Sikh community with its agents. "The Sikh community has ousted agents like Sarna (Paramjit Singh) earlier and I am sure people like Nalvi (Didar Singh) and Jhinda (Jagdish Singh ) who have colluded with the Haryana government to betray the community will also meet the same fate".
The SAD president also warned chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the "gadddars" supporting him that the Sikh community was ready for a "sangharsh" on this issue and would not let the SGPC be divided in two at any cost. He appealed for complete unity on this issue, saying only communities which remained united could achieve their goals.
Sikhs leaders from the different corners of India including Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Delhi, Avtar Singh Hitt, Delhi, Jathedar Joginder Singh Ahravan, Harbhajan Singh Cheema, Party President Utranchal, Surjit Singh Kang, president Rajasthan, Daljit Singh Bhinder, member SGPC Himachal Pradesh, Sukhdev Singh Gobindgarh, former president Haryana, Mohkam Singh, Kanpur, Giani Jaswant Singh, Indore, Giani Daleep Singh, Bhopal, Harjit Singh Alwar, Rajasthan, Davinder Singh Khalsa, Uttar Pradesh, Jagjit Singh Gora Kang, Chandigarh, Harjinder Kaur, member SGPC Chandigarh, Tajinderpal Singh Siahposh, Haryana, Onkar Singh Thapar, Delhi, Gurbax Singh, Kanpur, Sukhbir Singh Mandi, Haryana, Baldev Singh Khalsa, member SGPC Haryana, Makhan Singh Lubana, Haryana, Jaspal Singh Jaipur, Rajasthan and Swaran Singh Ganganagar also addressed the gathering.
